Some of the main manufactures are the following;
There are many different locations in your body for a ventricular shunt to drain to, the most common being your peritoneum. This is essentially an empty spot behind your stomach, that allows the excessive CSF to be reabsorbed. Other distal locations include the pleura space, this space encapsulates the lungs and holds up to 7 liters of fluid at all times. Vetricular Atrial shunts are still sometimes used, but were more common years ago. They drain into the right atrium and the CSF is absorbed into the blood stream. There is also the galbladder, this is not commonly done but can be the choice of some surgeons.
